Around 2014, Yuichi Miura, the president of Sapporo Wine Co., Ltd., planted grape trees at two locations (Hachiman area and Taruk

awa area) in Ishikari City, a town near Sapporo City, Hokkaido. Hokkaido was a business entrepreneur with an eye on the very good grapes that have been harvested due to recent warming and rising wine culture. It's been a few years since then, and the ingredients for making wine are ready. In 2020, Sapporo wine will begin to be brewed. You can't visit the brewery, but you can buy and taste wine.

There are 4 wineries in 2020 in Sapporo, Hokkaido, and the last one was our winery.
Hokkaido is a northern area of Japan that is full of nature in each of the four seasons, and is famous for snow skiing and festivals, but its rich food culture is also one of the attractions of Hokkaido. Sapporo's central city is Hokkaido.

The grape varieties used in Sapporo Wine are Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Yama Sauvignon, Kellner and Pinot Noir. Although it is an area where the cold of winter is severe, varieties centered on fragrant white grapes that can be used in cool areas will boost our food culture.
